I know this has been asked before but, what is everyone's opinion on Schon cues? Being production cues , are they worth thier prices? I would like to hear both good and bad reviews. I have heard thier quality and parts used are suppose to be very good. I'm interested in a STL18 for about 950.00. All comments are greatly appreciated!!!! Thanks in advance, Kennyratt

They are an excellent cue and I think the STL 18 is the cream of the crop without going into LTD's or Uniques. That's not a bad price, but you didn't say whether it's brand new or has some dings. That's pretty decent for new.

I have had two schon's and I feel they are one of the best production cues.
The first thing I do after purchasing a Schon is take that piece of crap tip
off of it.
I was very displease with the quality of the shaft on my last Schon, I really
could not believe they used the piece of maple they used.
I bought a shaft dowel from www.cuecomponents.com and had a local cue
maker build me a new shaft and it played great.
The cue I play with now is a custom made from parts bought from cuecomponents. It plays much better than my schon's did.

Drivemaker, Thanks for the reply. It will be new. What do you shoot with.? Kennyratt

I have a number of cues that I'll shoot with including high end customs. My Schon LTD ranks right at the top.

I agree that they are an excellent cue and in my opinion, the best for a production cue. I also agree that the tip is crap and to replace it immediately. I had an awful time trying to get it to hold chalk and finally had it replaced with a Triangle which made a huge difference. I had both an STL7 and LTD210 and both hit great.

I have had two Schon cues. Although both cues didn't hit the same, they both hit very good. I wish I still had them.

I have 3 Schons - an old spliced R-14 made in the early '80's, which I have more or less retired, an STL-11, and an STL-7, which has beens my primary playing cue for the last 5 years. All have 12.5mm hard Talisman WB tips on stock Schon shafts.

They are definently the cream of the production crop, IMO. Several friends have newer ones, and the quality and workmanship in all seems to be first-class.
