Just wondering why they're not using the older design anymore.
I have an older Schon with the current design and it kinda looks "a little off" to me.
I also have one Schon with the older design.
Can this older design, if it's not patented, be reproduced by any cuemaker/repairman?

have you called them and asked???

The signature represents the year and model the stick was produced a2012 stick with a 1989 signature would not be true also the value would chance the value

I asked about the markings in the shop once….I was told the umlauts weren’t indicative of any particular year on the older models.…..
……sometimes they used and sometimes not.

This is roughly the same answer I have come across over my years of collecting Schon cues. I was also told they updated the design/style at one point about the time they switched to rounded points from sharp points and then it became a matter of who was doing what at the time as to which setup they had to do the logo.

The only time I have a concern on a cue from Schon when it comes to logo is when I am looking at an old R series and it has the newer logo without the umlauts. That tells me the butt cap was probably replaced and not really uncommon with a 40 year old cue.

That's what I was thinking.
Why not use the older design for the appropriate circa, because older Schon cues can get damaged at the butt-cap from use, accident, or if the butt cap was personalized (name engraved)?
At the same time, I don't agree using the older design on the newer cues that came out with the new logo design.

Which Schon R8 would you pick, if both had a butt-cap replacement?
