Schon CX-51 Advice?

I saw one of these for sale locally and was thinking about buying it. I was wondering if Schon's are commonly faked or counterfeited and if anyone knows a good procedure when I check out the cue.

I do know that Schon is always spelled lowercase with the umlaut, and the pictures seem to reflect that, but they are not very high quality, to say the least.

Anyone have any advice for me?

It also looks to me like it is a Schon shaft. It has the logo on the wood, and if I'm not mistaken, also says SCHON on the ring on the shaft?

Pics are not very clear, but sure looks like a Schon. I just seen this model last week, looks the same.

The Schwartz...Not all real Schon cues have the umlaut over the "o".

That is a real schon for sure.My friend had one of those and he sold it a long time ago.If you know the seller and you think you can trust him so why not buying it.

Thanks ya'll for all the responses. I don't know the guy selling it and ir seemed like such a good deal that something must be wrong. He said he bought it 3 months ago and now has to sell it. He is wanting 500 for it. Too good to be true/legal? I think it might be stolen. Is there any way to check for that?

i dun think 500 is a stolen goods. schon are hard to sell now ever since walmart start selling them. that is imo.

Well then it seems like I'm being paranoid. I think I'll go check it out. Thanks a lot for all the help, everybody. :D

This is a cx-51.The Wal-mart thing has had very little to do with the selling of Schon's.I'd say it may have more to do about the economic times we are in than Wal-mart.A lot may depend on the condition of the cue as well as the sellers situation. He may just be wanting/needing to move it fast.$500 seems to be a solid price if you like the cue and is in the condition you find acceptable..I would go for it.I really enjoy playing with mine.At the price in good condition you really have wouldn't have much to loose,it will hold the value for a long time if well maintained.Schon skull cues always seem to have a good market for resale.IMO.Good luck and this is just my 2 cents!
