Schon Hybrid shaft, question about turning down the od

I bought a spare Schon cue a few years back to use as a bar cue and it came with a Schon Hybrid shaft. I use 12.50mm pre cat 314's and didn't have much use for the the hybrid especially since it's 13+ mm od. I've played with it a bit and it's OK but still feels like a club I suspect due to it's 13mm od. My question is since this is "supposed" to have LD properties, would taking the OD down to about 12.5 keeping the pro taper, would this improve it's LD properties any?

Not much would be my guess.

That's about 8% of the volume (more if it isn't solid) - for what that's worth.
