schon joint

A friend of mine wants to trade an STL13 for a cue that I made. When I looked at his schon I noticed the pin looks a little different than most schons, it has the first couple of threads cut off, not a quick release, just a couple of threads. The other thing I noticed is when you look down into the piloted joint it is stainless all the way through, in other words you can't see wood where the pin is tapped in, just stainless. Is this an older STL13 or a newer one? Is it more valuable like this or less valuable? I don't know alot about schons but it looks like work from the factory not some repairs.

The cue I would be trading I would sell for about $750. What is the schon worth?

Thanks for all the input and help.

Check out the thread Snipershot started on his Schon cue in the cue review forum. The pin you describe is one Schon used briefly from 93-95. As far as the model of the cue and any other info, I would email pics to Evan Clarke at Schon.

Good luck,

Randy
