there is a guy selling one of those old cocobolo schon sneaky petes that were discontinued a few years back. he has it on a 30-day buy-it-now/best offer deal. he has had it up for a while because it expired last month and he has re-listed it.

he wants a thousand bucks for this thing. i don't know if that is a fair price or not. i wouldn't pay nowhere near that. i actually had one of these back when they came out. i bought it in memphis at billiard pro shop for about $425. the retail was something like $587 but you know you never pay retail on a schon!

i don't think this cue would have gone up in value twofold like that, even if it is discontinued. for one, this is technically just a production cue, not a one-of-a-kind like some schons. evan isn't even the one who made this one. it was made by one of the people working in his shop. they churned these out like they do the lower-end schons like the stl-1. my friend tommy, who was with me when i bought it, has a runde schon. now it IS a one-of-a-kind and so it may be worth more now than what it cost back then.

but the 1000 bucks is not the nitty part i mentioned in the title.......it is the shipping! here is what it says verbatim:

I will ship to the US and Canada only. Buyer is responsable for all shipping fees. My shipping rate is a educated guess but not always accurate. If actual shipping goes over the rate posted buyer will have to pay the difference. Shipping to Canada may cost extra in some cases. Not responsable for damaged goods if buyer does not purchase optional insurance fees. Most of my auctions the insurance is optional only a few cases I will require the buyer to pay insurance. I suggest you purchase the insurance but it is optional at buyers choice.

he is charging $16 for shipping and says it may cost more. that is true, however, you think for $1000 he could ship it for free or something!!!!!!

i'm with you........at that price it should be shipped next day air..probably about $40.00......i wouldn't want my cue waiting around in some cold storage area waiting to be shipped again........
