SCHON QUESTION …..Do the new ones hit the same

I played with a 30 year old high end schon the other day
told made by the original guy
I was amazed at the feel /hit of the cue
i have played with tascs/mobley/tad/gina
and i was never blown away like i did with the feel/ hit of this cue
do modern schon’s play /hit/feel like the old ones?

The older ones are highly sought after. If you like how they hit and want something similar go talk to Bob Runde. He made alot of the older schons people rave about.

Everyone has a preference. I wont say the old ones are better, but they definitely hit differently than the new ones. I prefer the old hit.

Even the same models from different years can hit differently. I had an older sl9 i found pre-ivory ban. Hit very firm, solid. A buddy had one after the Ivory ban same model hit hollow. We couldn't believe the difference even with the same shafts. Approximately same weight butts.
