Schon questions

Mainly to Bama_cues, Fast_N_loose and bogey54311. Before I finally registered, I read lots of post on this "GREAT" site. One in particular,in the wanted/for sale forum, rburgoyne had an "older" Schon for sale. One of yall made the comment that the older schon cues from the Runde era had stich rings and sharp points. This puts me in a quandry?? I own several Schons, one is a plain jane BEM with stich rings at the joint collar, another is a six pointer (the points are rounded over) very similar to a SL14 w/o ring work and instead of diamond in butt collar it has six ivory windows, this cue also has stich rings at the joint collar and on both original shafts. The last cue is an SL10, it has razor sharp points and the silver ring at the joint collar and on both the original shafts. I sent Evan a picture of the six pointer and all he said was "very interesting design" What say you guys??? I will post pictures as soon as I can

Chris Tate has a lot of information about Schons on his website:

I would say that your plain BEM cue with stitch rings is an R-1. There are a lot of variations in Schons, but Evan usually can help you if you have the time. You mentioned some guys that can probably help you on this forum. There is also a guy named Bill Loucks that goes by Hersheybarbilli on this forum that is a very knowledgeable vintage Schon collector that might be able to help.

Good luck!

Steve
