Schon screw difference.

Can someone tell me the difference between the Schon thread and some other cues that are 5/16 x 14? Shafts do not seem to be interchangeable.
 
i used to have a schon and a few paul mottey shafts for it and they all fit perfect.. when i got rid of the schon, and got a paul mottey cue the old schon shafts wouldnt fit on the mottey.. the last post in that link above explains exactly why...
