When you post in a thread that you PM someone a scammer is going to hit you up claiming to be that person. That’s why it’s wise to only PM and not post anything publicly. You’re only asking to be a target.

Honestly not sure if it’s not in your profile but it’s happened to multiple people that have posted they PM me in my for sale threads. Never under estimate the ingenuity of these scammers.

By the way. COD from UPS or USPS, the driver won’t allow you to open and check the item. They just ask for credit card payment right away. It’s not safe either way.

That's the rules, however knowing the UPS driver helps. Also it's a federal crime to use the USPS to defraud. TBH, it's been a long time since I've used COD. Also, it used to be that one could give the USPS a check unless otherwise stated on the manifest, which you could then stop if called for.
Have you posted your email in any other threads on the site? It could have been years ago, but this is usually how these scammers are getting your contact info.

I’ve gotten many messages to my personal email claiming to be the seller after I’ve shown interest on an item on AZ. I never have posted my email in any conversation or forum here so somehow they’re getting it from our az accounts or some other hack like that. This seems to be a very prevalent scam currently. It is never the actual poster of the item. Be careful and communicate only through pm.
