Schon tip hardness rating

I guess I could call Schon and ask, but they're closed. Does anyone know the Schon tip (factory tip) hardness rating compared as it pertains to the meuller rating chart? I've been looking at the Meuller's website and trying to figure out where the Schon tips fit into the hardness rating. The rating starts at 60 (soft) and goes to 86 and up (hard).

thanks, jED

Schon does use their own tips, but I have found Triangle tips as a replacement to be almost exactly the same.

or, a milkdud LePro, but I won't go into that here :D

last shaft I brought directly from schon had the hardest tip I've ever hit with on it. Wasn't even close to a triangle or a lepro on that shaft. More like a cut down, compressed, harder than normal sumo.

I think the Schon tip would be around 86+. The Schon tips are definitely much harder than triangles, le pros, and talisman WBs.

I'm still using it though, plays great :)

Schon tips play almost exactly like the black talisman WB tips. Not the brown ones, they're softer.

I had the same experience. That tip seemed hard as a rock to me.

My Bender came with a Sumo and the Schon cue I have did feel like the tip was a bit harder.
So have to agree that the Schon tip felt harder than the Sumo.
Not sure exactly what they used but eventually upgraded the tips on the Schon to something softer.

Which tip would closely mimic the Schon tip?

In the future, when I replace the tip, I'm trying to find a tip that closely matches the Schon tip so I don't have to send it back to Schon for a tip that will end up costing about $30 after shipping both ways. I can get a tip on it locally for about $5 or do it myself. Just trying to find the tip that's closest.

Another thought: has Schon ever mailed just a tip to a customer? Maybe I'll try that?
