Schon weight bolt

Anyone have an extra Schon weight bolt or know where I can get one? I'm new to the Schon craze but I loved the hit as soon as I tried one out. I don't know if the weight bolts are measured by ounces or inches.. I know my cue has one in it now but I'm interested in just a tad bit more weight. ~Thanks

2", 3" and 4" for a Joss

I got one of each from Brianna187 from ebay. It is in no way the same as a Schon bolt. It moves the rubber bumper out a little. The width and threading seams to be the same.
My local cue repair shop would not touch my Schon? "Get some bolt from Home Depot and drill it or send it back." I got the Schon off ebay two years ago and someone had played with it. The weight system was all off. I think they put hot lead into the butt? It was no fun drilling it out. They put the schon bolt in afterwards, it was all out of wack. But, what can you say to a $200 Schon w/2 shafts that list for over $500? Make a good cheap bar cue.

I cut a Huebler in half one time for the fun of it. This guy threw it across the bar and broke it just under the joint. It was interesting to cut a cue from one end to the other. Now that was a hack-saw-job. :D

hmm. not really sure.. the last schon i had was an all ebony ltd and it was a hard too heavy.. so one day we decided to change the weight bolt.. so i go through all this trouble to get it out... it was an aluminum bolt.. not even an inch long.. and it weighed practically nothing.. cue was heavy because it was solid ebony. so they didnt use any extra weight.. lol.. we deemed the bolt that was in there was only in there to hold the butt rubber on. that was it..lol.. so i am afraid somebody else will have to answer your schon question..

good luck..

My cue is an Ebony cue as well so it may be the same scenerio with a tiny weight bolt just inplace to hold the bumper on. I didn't check to see how long it actually is (I just sent the cue down to Tiger wraps to have a stack leather wrap put on so I won't be able to check it for a few days). On my scale it weighs 19.4 right now... the cue I'm switching over from is 20+ oz. It's not a life or death situation, I just figured weight bolt can't be that expensive and it couldn't hurt to try a heavier bolt. (who knew it would be difficult to get though) :)

Toomanybugs: caught another post from earlier today.. Happy Birthday! (was actually my b-day yesterday 2/13)

I've had bad dealings with Brianna before so I try to avoid him. Although its a shame because he does make some nice looking cues.

i am sure evan clark at schoncues.com would sell you what you are looking for or i have several bolts as well...i am sure he would have some insight as to how to do this also...but here's how i look at it as there are a few things to consider.....

you need to figure out how much heavier you want your cue to be...or a guesstimate...

do you care about the balance point changing??...adding weight just by changing the bolt will pull the balance point towards the rear of the cue....no exact science here to my knowledge...the more heavier the weight change, the more the balance point moves towards the rear of the cue, to point out the obvious.

weigh your cue, then take out the weight bolt and weigh it and measure it (w/o screw + bumper)

then going from here...i would suggest getting 2/3/4 weight bolts in 1/4 oz heavier increments around the weight you are wanting...

then you can play around with some different weights and with some testing with each weight bolt you can hopefully get where you want to be with it.:D

good luck....
