scooping cb

The other night, I was playing in a 8 ball league match. Running out & I've got 2 balls & the 8 left. I line up to shoot a diagonal shot. not to thin a cut. About 4-5 foot long/ I use some low right to get on the other ball. I mishit the ball and the cb jumps, not high. I thought I miscued. A guy on my team tells me that it looked like I scooped the ball. Like I hit on a downward angle.
I've had something similar happen a few times lately. I don't know if I'm lifting or what, any suggestions ? I looked at a dvd that I did with Scott and I don't see anything on it. I got to be doing something that I'm not realizing.
I'd enter a pool table to show the shot but I don't remember how.

John...Sounds like a grip pressure issue. A tight grip will cause the tip to dive. Try setting up the same shot, and purposely hold the cue VERY loosely. Be sure to set, pause, finish...you may be rushing the shot more than you believe.

I get that sometimes when my SET position is to far away from the CB on a draw shot
