still on my quest to find a good , quality, not to expensive counter for my poolroom.
so after the manual version.... i thought of this cheaper then most digital counteR.
so:
frame
1 board of cheap wood to make the frame.
it can be covered with fake leather fabric (rino, pig, snake, croc, etc..)
flag:
two 1.5" digital picture frame to post the flags/ teamlogo/ sets..
they come from small digital keyhangers.. just taking the screen of, and install it in the frame. upload all the country glags, and just scroll till the right flag apears, or upload custom logo's of teams etc...
nametags
two glass window slightly raised vs the frame so that nametags can be slided
in.
score
two 7" widescreen digital picture frames with memorycard/usb/memory.
The usb would be extended to the side of the frame as normally its located at the side or back wich wont be assecible when fitted in the frame.
touch
the 7" frames come with remote control. it can be stored on the frame so that the players use it or given to a tournament director /referee from a distance.
idea:
the idea is, that the two 7" screens have pictures of scores saved in the internal memory. aka 1,2 etc... till...50? 150? 500? whatever you want.
custom pictures could be made like in my picture, where the tournament director prior to the match just used any photoprogram to add pictures of players next to the score. he saves them all on a USB stick. when a tournament begins, he just uploads true the side all the pictures from the 2 players playing, and the counter is read to work. just press right butonto move to picture 2: who has picture of player A with score 2, etc...
the two 7" screens can work with lithium batery's who are reloadable. so you dont need ANY wire AT all.
the screens can also play AVI files (made some commercials in between matches...)
the screen can play mp3 and has incorporated boxes. cool so you can handle your music close to your hometable. no more need to run to the pc and change the playlist.
just an idea
total cost:
120$ for the 2 7"screens
20$ for the 2 1.5" screens
50$ for the frame and leather
10$ for the glass nametag thingy.
5$ for the usb extenders
so lets say you can build it for 200$ working hours not included. buy digital counters in a shop and you'll be spending 500$
so question.
