Scorpion J/B or Fury J/B

The Fury Jump Break is extremely comparable to the Bunjee Blaster and the Sledgehammer in performance, balance and construction. The Scorpion is more like a Cuetec with a Phenolic Tip. The weight distribution on the Scorpion is not to my taste.

BUT - Johnny Archer doesn't seem to have a problem breaking with the Scorpion and most other Pros are breaking with the Sledgehammer, Fury or Bunjee Blaster or some sort of local version of those three.

So, it is my opinon, that all three are fairly good and that I would give the edge in performance, balance and looks to the Fury given these two choices.

OPC, you might want to PM Johnny Archer in regards to the playability of his line of cues. Archer has played most of his career with a Schon cue and has switched to his Scorpion line of cues over the last couple of years.

I was leaning torward the fury but was wondering about the scorpion since Platinum Billiards test rates it as the fastest break cue out there.

I too have been looking at these cues myself, and the Fury does indeed seem to have a small edge. Price will affect my decision as well, I could care less about looks, as long as it plays good and won't make me go broke.

i had the plain Scorpion break cue a couple of years ago, not the J/B. wasnt much of a break cue, really. i sold it on EBay shortly thereafter. sorry Johnny.

A Schon? When Johnny peaked back in the early 90's he was breaking with a custom Rick Howard MACE J/B not a Schon.

I don't know why I would need to talk to Johnny. My comment was only to state that Johnny's recent results seem to indicate that he is not having any problem breaking with the Scorpion.

In regards to the comment about Platinum Billiards - the owner of Platinum Billiards, Shane Sinnott (formerly of Predator) has put down his Predator Break Cue in favor of the Fury JB. Shane is a pretty sporty player himself.

I personally would choose either a Bunjee Blaster, www.bunjeebilliards.com OR a Fury JB out of ALL jump break cues available.

BG, Yes you are correct about that. I miss read the question. I thought he was looking at those two cues as playing cues.
