Scruggs for sale

well stated Mike....

i would also rather have a vintage cue (like this TS) in its original finish with some character that shows it was somewhat or well taken care of during its life than having a refinished pristine specimen looking like a closet queen, bought and put up...

cues were meant to be played with after all....

That's actually kinda of funny coming from a guy with more sticks then he knows what to do with.:D

Back to it

I like the cue and I would be able to sell it for more untouched and honestly represented. Collectors trust me for this reason. Untouched and honest is worth more in my world but you might not have the advantage of knowing many true blue collectors as I do.
Good Luck
Greaat cue
Also a good refinish will assure the cue will never fall apart from playing with it. Moisture kills old stuff!

I like the refinish and I own it lucky me!!!!

Until I saw this cue I didn'r realize how old it is. This is a oldie. Yes this cue of mine is definately a old and very shiny cue. Phil didn't like the tapper on the shafts as much as I did so we traded a couple cues. The fit and finish on this cue is exceptional. Aron tells me to send it back. He has a thin piece of lizzard he thinks will look even better than the wrap on it has now and he will put it on NO CHARGE!
This thing plays so sweet I might have to take a rain check!!!
Heck of a offer! I will have to ponder. Send it away, don,t send it away!!!
Good work Aron. It definately looks like you shot 5 layers of clear on it. The finish is syck!!! Reminds me of a old hot rod.

post up the finished pictures... i would have loved to buy that cue.. someday i will own one with box points.. i just bought a scruggs.. its supposed to arrive tomorrow.. its 3:17am and i cant sleep just waiting for it to arrive... Nick.. i passed on that cue i emailed you about.. i saw it on one of the forsale websites for less then i was offered it and it had a Kelli case which was probably worth 200 bux.. i understand that everybody wants to turn their cue around for profit.. and it doesnt matter what they pay for something, but i just didnt like it enough to spend what they were asking and i knew i would find one that i really like.. :)

so dont forget and post those finished pics!!

Hi PainPool,

To me, any cue who need a refinish should be done right-the-way and IMO, you are right when you stated this cue will sale either way. After all it's a Scruggs and I'm sure you will get your money back....guaranty.

Good luck with your sale.

Cue is sold!!

Hi' Thanks for your words Nick. The finish is rock hard. 5 days of curing time. 7 coats of uv clear. 3 days of coats with cure time in between. I just like the Lizard I have now better. Thanx Aaron 815-243-1101:D :D :D :D

Where are the finished pics?

I have a question about the whole refinish job causing a cue to be less in value thing?
It is just a clear coat and a new wrap, how can that make it cost less?
If you were not told it was redone, how could you tell in the first place?
Personally, I like the cue to look nice ( I don't mean point and inlays, because I like the plain satin southwest style cues best), but I mean free of chips in the finish and no dings, and without the yellow haze that some clear coats develop over time.

AARON,
you will be the first person I send a cue to that need to be cleaned up, your work is awesome.

Thank you sir

Looking forward to making you smile!!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

My cue is not on another sight!

I thought I offered my playing to you. Refresh my feeble memory. You might have seen the fancy Scruggs on another sight but my sticks are usually 1/1. Any way you could have countered, anything I offer in a PM is up for grabs so to speak. If I quoted you a price on Bama's cue it needed $200.00 of work to get it how I like to sell them but was well worth what he was asking!

no.. i asked your opinion on a box pointed cue that i was looking at buying and i sent you pictures of it for your opinion since you seem to be the guy to talk to when it comes to TS cues... it wasnt bama's.. it was a box pointed cue with a micarta joint.. the seller wanted 1750 for it.. after i asked you about your opinion, i saw it on another site marked sold.. it must have been where he bought it from... maybe that will help you remember... it wasnt one of your cues.. oh yeah.. Bama gave me a great price on his cue.. i just didnt like the stained forearm...

you were very helpfull and i appreciated knowlege you passed along..

That cue was sold by J P Nauesbam to a friend of Howard the Dicks. It was sold for $1450 with a kelly case. I have never been lucky enough to own that one. I gave you the price paid. If you bought it at that price the seller would have had a free Kelly case! So I was thinking that might be a good deal for both of you. I will sell you this box cue for the $1750 he offered you the other cue. I really didn't want to sell it. But I want no hard feelings! And everyone else NO!
I got to thinking about and no to all.
The cue you PMed me about MR. C, had a fiber joint. You really were unsure if you would be happy with the hit. Also the butt sleve had boxes that were veneer outlined or inlined. How could you have confused that cue with this one.

no hard feelings here.. you have me really confused... i did not mistake it with yours.. i was just saying that one day i will buy a box pointed ts, i like them alot and that when i emailed you a few weeks ago about advice on what you thought it(the cue i sent you pics on) was worth, that way i would get an honest answer from somebody that had nothing to do with the deal..
this is the cue i considered buying.. i wasnt aware that you had any foresale back then.. i just recently bought a nice ts.. (unfortunatly its not box pointed) or i would consider yours...

This is a link to the one i considered.. i was told 1750(which i thought was high and i didnt want a cue with a micarta joint)
http://www.cuesnthings.com/cues/scruggs/c/index.htm

all is good.. no worries or hard feelings here.. i can understand the little bit of confusion , because you see and sell so many.. i may be looking for another ts soon for a relative,, something with an ivory joint.. but that wont be for another month or two..

i just wanted to say thanx for all the help with all my questions you answered..
