SCRUGGS sneaky Question

i have a scruggs "true" sneaky question. it is an older one w/ the TS logo between the points and want to know if there is a way to tell when it was built. some one in my area said they thought it was 20+ years old. their only basis was he "very knowlegable" about cues. looking to trade @ the first of the year for a bluegrass sneaky (yes i know it will not be a even swap). thanks 4 the help in advance
 
The TS between the points was done until the day Tim stopped selling them, it was an upgrade to add the buttcap and have the logo on the buttcap.
 
i have a timmy sp (an old one) that's late 80's early 90's and ive noticed the butt cap is the traditional screw in kind like those seen on house cues. dunno if this helps or not.
