Are TS cues piloted at the joint? Does he use various threads?

I've seen Scruggs cues with 5/16-14 piolted joints, steel flat faced joints with a big pin into wood threads, non metal joints with radial pins, ect. He used a variety of joints.

In his early days, his primary joint was steel, with 5/16 X 14 pin. When he did an ivory joint, it was usually with a 3/8 X 10 pin. He continued steel with 5/16 X 14 piloted, but also did quite a few flat-faced steel joints with a 3/8 X 10 pin, sometimes the standard, sometimes the acme pin, and sometimes radial. The acme and radial pins were used with ivory too. Some of his sneaky petes were piloted, some were flat-faced. That covers a good bit, but I'm sure there were other combinations as well.

Just in my little Tim Scruggs collection, 5-cues 4-different joints, and I traded a TS cue with a 3/8-10 pin / stainless steel collar, that would of been 6-cues 5-different joints.
