Yeah, I think that the manner/circumstances in which you check racks says something. Some guys make it a practice to check every single rack. (I think Souquet and Varner both do this). On the other hand, checking racks can be a way to try and get into your opponent's head. I don't like to think of those sorts of psychological techniques as part of the game (I know some people do), though I know they happen all the time. Many players are just petty, and will try every trick in the book to win. I make it a practice to completely ignore the antics of those sorts of players.
