I just recently had my shaft cleaned/bleached and sealed by Scott Sherbine at Proficient Billiards and he did a great job. My question/problem is that I don't think it was sealed before and it always remained really smooth during play ( all I had to do was wipe it with a towel once in awhile). Now that it is sealed it seems to attract dirt, hand oil, chalk, etc. and it feels dirty after only a short amount of play (a few racks). Can I use some 1500 grit sandpaper to remove the seal and restore it like it was before?(by hand without a lathe) Or will this ruin the shaft or reduce the diameter? I really hate having to wipe it down or wash my hands every few shots. So, will sanding produce the desired results? Yea or nay......all advice is greatly appreciated.
