If you mean applying finish to the wrap (like Muecci) I definately think that's a waste of time. Might as well do a wrapless butt. If you mean waxing and pressing to "seal" the wrap I think that's a good idea.

If we are speaking of an Irish Linen wrap I do not recommend sealing the wrap with wax because the wax will attract dirt and hold it in the cord making it filthy in a short time. A properly applied Irish Linen wrap that is pressed properly needs nothing but time on the pool table. Good Luck.
