Sealing the wrap

What is the general feeling about sealing the wrap? Are there compelling reasons one way or the other?

If you mean applying finish to the wrap (like Muecci) I definately think that's a waste of time. Might as well do a wrapless butt. If you mean waxing and pressing to "seal" the wrap I think that's a good idea.

So is it possible to have an existing wrap waxed and pressed or does it require a complete rewrap? Sorry if the answer should be obvious but I honestly have no clue how this is done.

As long as the butt is straight, pressing a wrap is no problem.

If we are speaking of an Irish Linen wrap I do not recommend sealing the wrap with wax because the wax will attract dirt and hold it in the cord making it filthy in a short time. A properly applied Irish Linen wrap that is pressed properly needs nothing but time on the pool table. :) Good Luck.
