Thanks for the video post.

Dennis hasn't played much pool in the last 6 or 7 years or more. He goes for months without hitting a ball (he's in his shop working on cues) and when he does pick up a cue he plays pretty sporty to say the least. He has had some great matches against some awesome players like Buddy Hall, The Miz, and a whole list of others. When Dennis was playing he played great position and didn't miss very often and very strategic.

slow and the pockets seem like buckets. then again i am playing on a triple shimed gc III. :)

Man, I waited the whole set to see Dennis catch a roll and he never did. I've never seen him play before, but the comments I had heard on AZB about his skill seem true. I like his style.

I agree

He did not get a roll. I spoke to a player in ATL that knows/knew Dennis and he said that Dennis could play. That match was really interesting because of their contrasting styles. A fast and loose type player vs. someone very deliberate.

When I buy accu-stats I try and get a good mix like that. I just got a tape from the internet sale- Horsfall v. Hernandez- I got it because I thought they would have different styles. I was right, it was a great match (if you like 9B).

kinda' like that reyes/blomdahl match. blomdahl baby wacked reyes though. it's amazing how good he is. i used to play a loose "philippine" style for years and as time went by my stroke became more regimented similar to dennis's but my stroke doesn't "tip up" on the back stroke, it stays level. i have the same "hitches" as him as well. i've found i just play better that way now for some reason. it could be cause i'm gettin' older and my joints aren't as "greased" as they used to be. ;) :)

I feel just the opposite, I do not like his style. I play similar to Mario, but he made *multiple* careless mistakes that he didn't end up paying for...

The interesting thing about when I watched this video is how the thread is called "Searing video", and as soon as it started up, I thought, "Man, Mario is going to destroy this guy..." So, I was waiting for Dennis to kick it up a notch and rock out this set and prove me wrong, but it never happened.

Good video though, thanks for posting.

Dennis use to play alot at the Tues night handicapped 9ball tournament at Hollywood Billiards. I think he was a 12 there, meaning he had to go to 12 games before his opponent reached his number. "A" player ability starts about an 8 or a 9 on the hollywood system just so you can get a sense of what a 12 means. When Dennis use to snap the tournament off (and he did so many times) the TD use to have to make him play constantly in order to finish before 3 or 4 am. Dennis plays very methodical and while you get a sense of it on this video, live in person its brutal for his opponents. Dennis is liable to put a 3 or 4 on you and make you sit for 20-30 min.
