I was thinking about possibly purchasing a Searing cue. While I understand that it is almost impossible to order one new, there do seem to be a few that come up for sale now and then.

My question is, for a relatively new (built after 2000), 4 point, veneered, Searing cue in good to excellent condition without a lot of additional inlays or extras, what is a reasonable range for the current market price? I understand that this may be a difficult question, but before I shell out a large chunk of cash, I'd like to know what's reasonable.

Searing cue

Stay away from him.He owes me a cue from 2009 november,and won't even answer his phone. He's a liar and bull shitter. Rich aka the skunk.

When you say he "owes" you a cue it infers that you have paid for the cue, is that the case? If you mean he told you that he would make you one and that it would be done in 2009 then I think you should change your verbiage and just get in line. I believe you can say he promised you a cue, please clarify this.

Also to the OP the reason for this advanced price range on his cues is because of situations like this. The production is very low and the demand is high. So the hundreds of people who feel they are "owed" a cue will pay a premium to get one once they realize they are not going to get what they feel they are "owed".
 
Searing cues are among the most desired by collectors and players alike. They are renowned for their playability and meticulous craftsmanship.

It seems like 5,500 - 8,000 for a recent 4 point, veneered cue in good to excellent condition is the market?

Add some inlays, ring work, etc... and obviously the ticket goes up.
