It struck me during the recent World 14.1 that second generation pool players are quite rare. Yes there were the Schaefers in the 19th and early 20th century and Lou Butera's son is a player, but think of the Mannings in football, the Earnhardts and Pettys in Nascar, the Hills, Villeneuves, and Rosbergs in Formula One, the Griffeys and Wilsons in baseball, etc. Why don't pool-playing genes transmit across generations?
Maybe the kids don't want to be broke like their parents.
