I don't know much about "The Secret", but I'll let most people in on a little one. The secret is that most shooters will never be as good as Blackjack, not now, not ever.

You didn't hear that from me though.

Now I'm catching on to your system. Never overcut and never undercut a ball. Sounds fool proof.
 
I don't want to start a new thread for this but my question is this;

If I never miss a shot, can I forget about getting in line, or gaining and angle?

I mean, why bother with cue ball position when your know your not going to miss, not now, not ever?

Something to think about, no doubt.

Might not work for other people, but my secrets are:

pace: too fast, too slow.....both suck.

clear vision: I won't pull the trigger until I have a clear picture in my head of what will happen.

flow: keep everything fluid, and in constant motion.

These are the things that are in place when I'm in stroke. May sound a little transcendental hippyish, but its what works for me. The moment I start "aiming", guaging speed, thinking about spin, and contact points.....my game goes in the crapper!

IMO, no secret is as good as pure love for the game. A great artists is not great because of other's secrets. They found their own through the pleasure of their work and looked to others along the way for advice.

My guess is that pool fits here too. Lots of resources from many here and lots of great instructors.
 
i for one use Hals systems and i can say they work for me, when i apply them i can make the shot, but its not just one system i use its three of them, with a little side option that i came up with Koop and Fred know what i am talking about LOL. The secret to pool for me has to be play the table not your opponent.

I could really get in trouble with pools secret socieity, better known as BSRAN........but they forgot to send me my last news letter so......bend, shoot, repeat as nessecary.....I'm glad I got that off my chest.....LOL
