Im looking for a 'world class' piece of snakewood for a fly rod real seat insert. It has too be well seasoned, round, around 1-1.5" and in foot long sections. I will buy upto 6 of them. If you can do me this favor please
pm me asap, as this purchase will need to happen quick. My rod is begin
built now and need this wood fast. thanks!

ill check my inventory, got a bunch of exotics. btw ever try lakelands fly reel seats? they come in three colors and are machine hooded. real nice for 9wt+ fly rods

Thanks and please let me know on the snakewoood. Im making a 4wt trout rod. The blank is a sage txl. So i think a alum. Reel seat in a 9wt would be sweet, but prob. not for fishing for native browns in a 6ft wide limestone spring. :) But if you could, i would love to buy some turned and maybe cored
dowls of snakewood, and any other exotic rare wood. Please let me know if you can help out asap, as my builder is standing by.
 
none in stock as of now, however ive contacted a local cue maker that will check his inventory

you might try contacting Joe at cue components, I talked with him a few weeks ago as they got in a bit of snakewood they are working on cutting down now?

There's no problem finding Snakewood. Many wood dealers have it available. Just what you mean by world class I'm not sure but what is your real problem with Snakewood is finding a piece that is well seasond. You do know that Snakewood has to be air dried very, very slowly. It takes many years ( 30 - 50 ) to dry Snakewood. If you try to speed up the drying process you will get many checks. If you can live with that then there's wood available. If you need it good and dry then look to spend many dollars.
