Hi all
Collecting for me always went hand in hand with playing. As I retired from playing when my first son was born, I think it's about time I moved on the cues and cases also. I have had a great time in the pool world and I have made countless friends and colleagues....and I am sure I will dabble with cues from time to time. This will be the first of a few threads. I intend to sell them in batches and it may happen that I keep some of the cues and cases.
Please note that I will be in Philadelphia in mid August for a week so if the preference is for me to bring the cue, as long as we complete the payment before hand, I can bring the cue so it can be shipped from the US. I am visiting Kenny Carfagno and Gian Calise and these two giants of the cue world can ship to anywhere in the US.
So with the cues, I am motivated to sell. The prices I quote are guideline prices, feel free to make offers....I need these gone. Specs will be provided on request:
1) James White 'The Diamond' cue: Ebony/ivory and white lizard sectioned handle with scalloped ivory diamonds and Stirling silver ringwork. Ivory butt cap has two 25 point (Brilliant cut, round, VS1 clarity) diamonds inlaid into 18K gold mounts. The Diamonds were ordered from Chad Deramus (son of Jimmie, of Cajun Pawn Stars fame) and sent direct to James White during the construction of the cue. Comes with two shafts and also comes with a leather Dennis Swift 2x4 with 'The Diamond' stamped in the leather. So, a JMW with half a carat worth of diamonds in it...not for the shy retiring type. Guide Price: SOLD
2) Arthur Queue 'Lord Of The Rings': The photos are not doing the 5AAAA grade maple any justice, stunning sectioned handle, maple cue with the most amazing ringwork. Sterling silver and ivory throughout, two matching shafts with the same amazing ringwork. Guide Price: SOLD
3) Danny Tibbitts: 6 points (with veneers), true Hoppe. Stacked veneers and ivory Hoppe ring in the ebony butt sleeve. Beautiful dark stained birdseye maple forearm. Two matching shafts, find another one. Guide Price: SOLD
4) Mike Bender: Super fancy ebony/cocobola Bender with scrimshaw and ivory windows with veneers. Four (yes, 4) matching shafts: Guide Price: SOLD
5) Tim Scruggs: Older Scruggs with one shaft. Tiger maple forarm with 4 points. Very rare format, Micarta piloted joint with a 5/16-14 pin. Amazing player. Guide Price: SOLD
6) Frank Paradise: Original cue with two shafts, amazing condition. Nice clear, butt sleeve, bumperless by design. Massive investment potential. Guide Price: $1800
7) Mark Bear Break cue: Wildwood with a curly maple handle, two shafts, one purpleheart shaft. I wish Mark was still with us, he was a lovely bloke. Guide Price: $1000
8) Bear cue: Made by Falcon when they were in Canada, owned and used extensively by Raj Hundal. Lots of Photos of him using this stick. Comes with an original, pre cat Predator 314 shaft (Raj's shaft). Guide Price: $800
9) Meucci Ivory Crown Jewel: Ok, here we have an original Ivory Crown Jewel from 1977. This is one of the first ones made by Bob and it's totally gorgeous. Completely hand made by Bob himself. The cue has four matching shafts, two of which are Jim Rempes actual shafts (made for his own Ivory Crown Jewel). These are the thin ones with the Black Ferrules. Jim won an 8 ball tournament in London, England many years ago with his Crown Jewel and he used these shafts. The butt and 4 shafts have matching joint protectors made by Alton Takata. These are very fancy indeed. The cue is presented in a unique, one off leather Whitten 2x4 case. Inlaid into the case is the original ivory block with gold inlaid crown that inspired Bob Meucci to make the Crown Jewel cues. It's cues such as this that gave Bob his place in cue making history and inspired so many others to break the mould and think outside of the box. Own a piece of history. Guide Price: SOLD
10) Corsair: Oringinal cue made in the 1980s by the late Hank Korsiak. Curly Bubinga and ivory, nice ringwork. Comes with a certificate from Hanks son. Two matching shafts. A proper player. Guide Price: $1200
11) Corsair Black Beauty: Oringinal cue made in the 1980s by the late Hank Korsiak. Fantastic example of this most sought after cue. Two matching shafts. Has REO stamped on the reverse of the butt cap. Guide Price: $1800
Remember, all guideline prices. If you want something special from my collection and wish to make an offer, PM me or email to sdvali72@gmail.com. I need to sell some sticks asap.
I want to thank all my friends and colleagues from AZ Billiards for the many years of enjoyment and happiness I have gained from collecting cues. AZ is a wonderful resource and we are lucky to have it. It has opened up the globe to us all and we are better for it.
Peace out....apart from my future threads
Sincerely
Si
