Senior center by me has three diamond tables, open all day for free

Lolll. I asked the young girl at the front desk: how much weight do these old timers ask for????
She said how much do they weigh?????????? I laughed and said no do they need a spot for the game. She had no clue what i was talking about. Finally i explained it to her, and she laughed and yes they want weight. they all want 4 games on the wire on a race to 5, and they only have to go to the 5 ball on game 5. I go dammmmmm. those are so tough odds for me, but i will take it. Let’s see how i do

Do some negotiating……make it 5 games in a race to 7 or even 3 out of 4. If you gotta give in on the race,
well at least get them to make it the 8 ball instead of the 5 but no combos or slop. That would be really
dumb if they wanted that too in the 5th game regardless of the ball you concede. Nope, not in a $ match.
Just get everyone to play a Buck a game but you only get paid 75 cents when you win. You should do well.

You guys are cracking me up today in the rain. I live in Anaheim which is in orange country ca. The cloth is very good on the tables. Looks like not many people on them. That’s a great suggestion to bring a break cloth, and yes i will do that. Its almost like finding a diamond in the sand for me. 5 minutes from my house, free, open 5 days a week, i can now paractice at home, and practice at my senior center. Going to a bar now for happy hour pool at 6 bucks a hour on diamond 7 footers. Just to get a change of scenery and maybe play someone. I have not gambled yet, but that is my future plan, to play some cheap 9 ball sets. Not quite ready yet, need a better break, but I’m getting close. ,

Well you are 65 now, come see me in MA in 10 years I'll play you some cheap 9 ball sets, that should get you enough time to work on the break. I just hope by then your eyes and arm are in less good form

In Tri-Cities WA, I went to the Senior Center and played the golf game with em. Part of my community service. There was never money involved just recreation and comraderie.

Ah, the good old days when I lived in Greeley, CO and the Senior Center had one, and later a second, beautiful 5x10 heated 3C tables. Now there isn't a 3C table within an hour of me, in AZ.

But it's where the grandkid is.

Very fortunate to have updated Diamond tables in a senior center. Those senior centers around the U.S. that still sport in-house billiard rooms mostly have older Brunswick's, AMF, Gandys or Olhausen. I have been in a few up North that sported rooms with four nine or eight footers. Time was when pool was so big in U.S. senior centers that tournaments were held among various centers and everyday 10 to 20 guys filled the rooms.

Most new senior centers have no billiards at all! Those that remain usually do not have enough players to occupy a room with three or four tables- some are still fairly busy with the senior pool scene. CT. had some very nice senior billiard rooms- Fairfield, Stratford, Bridgeport, Westport, etc.

Most rooms the speed they play at is generally reserved for D to mid level C pool. There are a few guys, however that may surprise you- down here in Naples Fl we have a few that may surprise you- including myself and Lester Smulowitz who visits during the winter months.

I have looked around my neighborhood and cannot find senior/community centers with pool tables, consider yourself lucky. I do have something similar to an Elks Lodge thing/club where you pay a small membership fee to belong to the organization but you still have to pay $1.25 per game on barbox Diamonds to shoot pool. My Gold Crown is already paid for a resides in my home down a flight of stairs, I will stick with that for now I guess.
