Senoir Amateur Open Tournament

Senior events are great events to play in providing you are the right age.

I'm wishing you much success and that is the only reason for me posting.

If you would like to increase out of state participants, you might consider suggesting motels and hotels where you have obtained discounted rates for your event. Also, you might consider adding a particular dollar amount REGARDLESS of the number of attendees. The reason being that when some out of state people see entry fee, green fee, hotel expense, travel expense and then see so many dollars IF SO MANY PLAYERS SHOW UP, they tend to be a lot more conservative because of the possibility that so many players might not show up and if they won the event they may not even cover their expenses. I'm not saying this is the case with your event, just sharing my personal experience and conversations with other senior traveling players.

I think the cost for traveling is so high these days that many people weigh all of the factors far more carefully today than they did twenty years ago.

Best Regards,

With regards to JoeyA's comment, as stated earlier, this is the first year that we have allowed out of state entries. We will be adjusting the format, fees, and payouts beginnning next year. This year was or first attempt with this age group to see if there was an interstate interest in this style of tournament. Next year I am sure more changes will be made.
As far as motels and discouted rates, there are 19 motels within a 10 mile radius that we have worked with for all of our tournaments with prices ranging from cheap to extreme depending on your taste.

As always if you have any question please feel free to call the bar or post questions here.
