Watch it full screen, havent seen that for a while, could watch it all day.

The shots on the green and pink were awesome!

amazing how effortless it is for some people. and the shot on the green wow, his position didnt even faze him he just grabbed the rest as if he had planned it that way well in advance. i tell ya though as amazing as it is to watch these guys on the computer its even better in real life ive seen exhibitions by cliff thorburn, jim wych, kirk stevens and bob chaperon and each time i was amazed by their potting abilities. thorburn ran somewhere in the 130's i believe, i was too distracted by the show he was putting on to even listen to the score.

I wish there was more Snooker here in the U.S. It truly is a beautiful game. It will definately seperate the men from the boys.

I don't keep up with snooker very much and in fact have only seen it played at a high level once in my life. How common is it for players to go 147 and out?? I watched this video and he did the same thing. I'm assuming that it isn't that common considering the amount of pressure of the world stage.

i dont really follow the sport myself although i do love to play it. i dont think maximum breaks are very common i believe some tournaments even have seperate prizes for such a feat.

It is extreemly difficult and has happened I think less than 10 times in TV history, although it may be over 10 now due to Ronnie. Rotation is often said to be the most difficult game in pool, especially to run a rack. When you watched the break keep looking at the pack and how all the balls are tied up. Remember to run 147 you have to get on the black after every red, so that means you have to get perfect angle on the red 15 times in a row and of course make the black and get perfect position again. It is so easy to get the wrong side of a red and the the cb will be heading down table. Add to that the pocket and table size and its one monster task, Ronnie just makes it look like a cake walk. I guess the best indication is the prize money for a 147 break in the Worlds is usually 147,000 pounds, which is about $275,000, just for 1 frame/break!

All that being said the standard of the elite has reached such a level last year a pro player I know was making a 147 break in practice almost daily while warming up for the tournament!!! 20 years ago many of the Pros had probably never had a 147 break in their lives!

Ok, when you put it like that....that is even more amazing than what I thought.

A much tougher snooker run than a 147 is 72 points:

15 red 15 points
15yellow 30 Points
Colours 27 points:D

I see no resemblance what so ever. That being said, along with the title of the thread I only assume you're making fun of BJA because he wears make up. :D

should be more than that, i'm not sure whats the exact number though. stephen hendry alone made 7 in televised matches. he currently holds the record of 8 in professional matches. ronnie is on 6. steve davis made the first televised 147. interestingly tony drago holds the record for 149 points (cos of the other player conceding a foul - foul -> point penalty) in a tournament match.

isnt a foul worth 4 points?

Actually it was a practice match, and it isn't the record. The record I believe is 151 and it was run by an amateur.

It is. However in order to run a break more than 147 you have to be able to take a free ball. In order to do that, your opponent must foul and leave you snookered on a red. If you choose to take your shot rather than pass it back, you may play any of the colours as though they were a red. This in effect creates sixteen reds on the table rather than 15 making the maximum number of points available 155.

If I remember correct Tony took the blue as his free ball and then potted the yellow. He went from there to run his maximum.
