Serious problems with new Predator?? Help!!

Hang in there Buddy, I had the same experience 6 years ago, when i first tried a 314 shaft. I could not get a single ball in, and I was miscuing very very bad.

One of the things that you will really realize from now is that it is very important for you to have a good stroke, without hitting the ball like you are used to in snooker. the Z2 shaft is thinner by 1mm as compared to the 314, but that 1 mm is enough to put unwanted spin and english on the cue ball.

I strongly suggest you do just a few minutes of drill before your shooting sessions, which will get you warmed up and stroking better.

I am currently a university student representing my school for pool and I also coach my team. Some people here have said that you cannot hit far off the centre with a Z2 shaft, but I disagree.

If you have seen a Jim rempe training cue ball, It is very possible to hit the outer-most level of spin, (level 5) with a Z2 - But it requires a very good stroke and consistent follow through to get it done.

You'll get used to the cue soon enough mate. I'm sure if you play often enough, you should be able to get used to it within a month.

1) Try to hit more stun shots and get used to the feel of the shaft.
2) start with soft-medium english shots to get used to the low deflection
3) increase power and amount of english to get used to the shaft progressively.

You'll be fine mate, wish you all the best.
