Here are some ideas to turn the Mosconi Cup into the "Hunger Games" of Pool...
Lets make it even more of a pressure cooker!
1) Teams have four players, not five (in the interest of time)
2) Add Asian Team, expand Team USA to The Americas
3) Winner previous year gets a bye, while the other two teams play to see who gets a shot at the cup. Or, make it a round-robin event. This adds another day or two to the event.
4) Awards for 2nd place and winner, third place just gets travel & board.
5) Races to 5 (in the interest of time)
6) Call pocket 10 ball (in the interest of eliminating luck and validating the contest somewhat to discerning billiard enthusiasts)
7) Lose the "team vs. team" match
