Seyberts exorbitant shipping charges?

with so much ordering on line there is competition for space on planes and trucks. and inflation of costs and wages.
shipping costs directly get affected by it.
You can still ship a cue UPS ground across the country for under 15 dollars on PirateShip. It's not a shipping price problem. Probably a "don't buy a hat from Seyberts if they don't stock it" problem.

Mostly just at home. When I do go out to play GK, Felt or wynkoop (for casual playing) are where I end up. I live 1/2 mile from GK
thats not too far from me at all. i went to gk once for a 9ball tournament a month or so ago, seemed like a nice place. Ive been meaning to go back to play on those straight rail tables.

let me know if you ever want to play some!

Seyberts doesn't make money on shipping, I don't believe, they just passed on the direct cost that UPS charges them. When I order things from Seyberts, they are very quick to send it out!

I just ordered from Seyberts and the shipping was only $6 USPS - - not sure why you had high UPS shipping quotes from them - the other well known online billiard retailers were much higher than Seybert’s for shipping.

there is something going on specifically with that vanadium cue ball i was trying to get. When i swap it to the palladium version, shipping is only $12. I prefer the triangles on the vanadium vs the "rotors" but not that much more. I will reach out and see if its something that can be resolved.

I was able to replicate this when I added only the predator cue ball to my cart. The dynasphere cue ball alone was still ~$30 to ship… something definitely doesn’t add up. Maybe they are drop shipping from Asia or something?
I put in the same order you did and the prices were high. Changed the cue ball to the aramith red circle and the shipping went down to less than $11.

I suggest you call them. My guess is that it’s something stupid like their system thinks the Dynaspheres CB is the same weight as that whole ball set.

I bought a bunch of Dr Dave DVDs some years ago and the shipping was coming up to something crazy. I called them and it was some glitch on their end and they fixed it. It’s also how I found out I’d been pronouncing their name wrong for 20 years. (“Sigh-berts” apparently, not “See-berts”).

just order from amazon shipping is free or free if you buy 25 bucks.

ive been playing for more years than most here have been alive, and never have ordered anything from a billiard company.
and cant find anything i want or need at one.
let alone hats or clothes. thats just me.
