I am wondering what role does shaft diameter play in deflection? If the diameter is reduced does the deflection reduce?

I had a Meucci that was probably the ugliest cue I've owned, but that cue was probably the straightest shooting I've owned:groucho: My thinking on this was, it was due to the thinness of the shaft, I'd guess about 12 to 12.5 mm and the long pro taper. This wasn't a laminated shaft, just straight grain maple. I use off center hits on the majority of my shots, that cut suited my game better than almost any cue I have used. I didn't continue to use it because my son had need of a cue and the fact that it was one ugly looking cue;)

Just my opinion , wood density, shaft taper , shaft diameter , and butt weight produce amount of deflection in a cue . If a cue is laying on the table , it will never miss , until you pick it up ...

K J Cues & Russell Cues are right......you can't breast feed on this type topic.....you need to do a little homework.
