Shaft for Schon

There is no problem adapting a OB shaft to your Schon.
I'm at the moment playing with the Schon in my avatar and a OB2 and it works fine.
A little harder hit than what I get from my favorite cue +OB2 combo though.
I did some time back ask Schon if they could adapt a OB shaft to my cue and the
word I got back was that OB had to adapt to Schon.
I asked Schon due to the fact that I wanted the stock ring and the small black
collar on the brass insert going in to the cue. This was not possible when I asked
and it was the first time I ever encountered a company not willing to do this.
(This, in addition to other things , did at the end put me off buying a new cue from them)
Things has changed, now they seem to have seen the light and jumped down from their high horse, you should be able to order
a shaft from them with their own ring and insert. However, there is only small differences
between the Schon "produced" OB shaft and a stock 5/16x14 shaft from OB Cues.
The "Schon" OB has a deeper brass collar/insert which is covered with a small
composite material at it's top - have a look at your original shaft (which for me is useless by the way)
I have a customers OB shaft which followed his Ltd Ed cue, and it was
no different than the stock except for the mentioned technicalities, and the
fact that Schon had not even bothered putting on clear coat on the first
inches from the joint........Their logo was though engraved.
So ordering a OB1 to your Schon from OB cues (Order a 5/16x14 OB1) should not give you any head ace
and you would in that way be under OB Cues wings w.r.t their excellent warranty
and support and most likely save you some bucks from the "customization".
