This billet is made with a PurpleHeart base wood and the 12 slots are filled with 1/8 inch wide Holly inlay strips. The inlay length is 3.5 inch with the overall length of 4.75 inch The diameter is 0.854 so only useable if you use a joint size that can handle that ring diameter. I would guess that an 0.850 joint at max. The inlays are deep enough to allow use on a joint at least 0.800, maybe a bit smaller? So most cue-makers will find this billet fine for their use on a shaft collar I think. I make my billets longer to allow grabbing the base with a chuck when one is close to the last of the ring material, less waste this way.
