Thin superglue is the ultimate sealer in my opinion.
You better know how to apply it properly though, it's not as easy to apply as most sealers are.
You better have decent ventilation too.

I'm curious if anyone has tried tung oil? you can get the pure version and it's food safe, no chemicals. I've never used it, there may be good reasons it unsuitable. If no one answers I may get some and give it a try.

It most likely will darken the wood somewhat. Try on scrap if you think you want to use it. I prefer Tru-Oil

CA. Thin or medium. Specific brand? I like wearing a respirator… that stuff is brutal. I like using CA as a finish/sealer on small turnings.

Stickfast thin. Wipe it on while the wood is turning, just enough to cover the entire area to be sealed. Then sand it off of the surface or it will feel sticky when you are shooting. The trick is to know exactly how much to apply and how much to sand. Do it right, and the grain stays down and relatively safe from chalk dust and dirt, but you still get that smooth bare wood feel.
