Shaft suggestions

Hey

Looking to see if anyone has recommendations on any stiff hitting high energy transfer shafts that aren't carbon fiber.
I would like it to be somewhat lower deflection wise as well.

I know that the new carbon fiber shafts are billed as just what I'm looking for but I don't really care for cf, at least on the exterior sruface of the shaft.

Find any old 314s or any old growth shaft that you know is the real deal. Check the weight (heavy) and count the grain. Lots. Any spliced shaft works. And of course kw.

If you have a 3/8x14 older Cuetec/Scorpion 20mm joint-size butt, the Katana 11.5mm shaft can fit for $165 versus $380 for a tuned Z-3:

One guy that doesn't get a lot of pub is BD(Bob Danielson) cue/shafts. Really makes great stuff and is very cool to deal with. His laminated lo-d wood shafts play really well.

I, presumably also, did not know that there even was a Katana shaft when I started looking.
I only started looking after the Z2-S-tuned cracked its ferule.
