shaft to joint issue...?

joint and shaft don't match up?

I just aquired a custom cue and my Predator shaft overlaps the edge of the joint about 1/16th of an inch uniformly. Will this affect the functionality of the cue, and or shaft? Also, if I buy a Predator partial and have it custom fit to the cue will it play totally different than the Predator shaft i'm used to playing with due to being turned down and reduced in diameter? What can I expect to pay to have a Predator partial custom fit(minus the cost of the partial which I will supply)?

What kind of joint ringwork does it have? Any pics?

I'm not really concerned about the ringwork matching up. A plain black ring would work for me.
