if you change a 5/16x14 pin to a 3/8th 11 pin ,,, will it change the hit of the shaft ???

It may change the hit of the CUE but the shaft will 'play' the same.
The hit will change not because of thread count but rather the additional 'mass'.
Will you be retaining the SS jnt. collar normally associated with a 14tpi pin ?
That will have more to do with defining the 'hit' than a pin change.
Let me confuse you further. Almost 2 oz of 'dead-mass' in the middle of the cue.
What type of hit are you hoping for ?
Efficient transfer of resonance btw the shaft and handle is dependent on how tightly
the connection is made. Fine threads generally connect more tightly than coarse threads.
However, there are enhancements to the 'big-pin' installation that can minimize this.
