Shafts - Pettit and 314-2

It could be the lighting, but that ferrule on the first shaft looks a bit yellow. If that's the case, it might be an older micarta material instead of ivory. I would also hazard a guess that it's not a Pettit shaft due to the joint threads you mentioned. I always thought he used 3/8x10 pins.
The shaft was purchased from krbsailing and was advertised as a Pettit shaft with an ivory ferrule in this thread http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=399356
