Shafts?

Im looking to have a shaft(s) built for a 60's era viking I just bought and I was wondering what kinda price I can expect to pay for some good work. The shaft is simple all the way...12.75mm, with a simple Black collar and pilot. Possible looking for it to be old growth...what kinda price difference can be expected? And who would you recommend...Im thinking Rubino or possible Schick if I can afford it.

probably $125-$175,but maybe more for Schick.not sure about Rubino, and be careful asking around for "old growth" you might get charged for it but not get it.i think there is much confusion surrounding an already tough to define term when it comes to old growth.i am sure Schick and Rubino know what it is and would not sell something that wasn't "old growth" as old growth, but i have some some shafts over the years that were said to be "old growth" that i wasn't so sure about.

Shaft

Hi Wes,
I have several of the reclaimed submerged maple shafts that I can offer for your project. They have roughly 20-25 growth rings per inch. I will not use the term "old growth" because unless one knows the history behind a given piece of wood and exactly where it came from the term is meaningless. The group of shafts will definitely provide a firm "hit". There aren't many around and they can easily command $200 per shaft.
Let me know if I can help you with your project.
