Shane Repeats Masters win...

Here are the top 64 snooker pro earning after 2015 The Kaspersky Lab Riga Open in POUNDS (GBP). ,,,

Not that it really matters much in terms of your argument, but, from what I have read:

• The snooker world ranking list, which is now based on earnings rather than points, shows rolling two-year earnings totals, not single-year earnings. I think the numbers you show in your post for snooker are those two-year totals.

• However, the world ranking list only counts money earned in ranking events, Asian Tour events, and European Tour events. It excludes money earned in invitational events (such as the Masters) and prizes for high breaks and 147's, and those excluded earnings can be substantial.

AtLarge - You are right. I just wanted to present fact that snooker players make more money then pool players.

We all know that, but the overall prize pool isn't big enough for a top pool player of today or years ago (who make a comfortable 100K to 300K) to forsake that to be a low ranking snooker pro and make 30 or 40 thousand.

Any cue sport takes years to learn to play at a world class level, so no pool player could convert to playing world class snooker without moving to the UK full time and playing against the best players for years to get seasoning.

Alex can only get so good beating up on his fellow Canadians. For him to reach the next level, he'd have to move to another country, and the risk isn't worth it as his age (on the women's side, Allison and Karen were both around 25 when they made the switch, and that required them to move to the US full time, but they were young enough that still had time. To switch after 30 and expect to be a top pro is about impossible).
