Shane VanBoening in Colorado?

Great story, and I agree he's one to watch. When he was out here in the fall he said he'd give anyone in the state (Colorado) the 7ball, I didn't see too many takers.

... Finally, John was all in and shot a pretty good safety at Shane. I thought it was going to go back to another see-saw battle but Shane made a remarkable kick shot and a even more remarkable and very difficult run out to win the match....

I thought safeties weren't allowed in ring games, at least that's the way I've always played. You have to make an honest attempt.

Do they change the rules when it gets heads up? Or was it a fluke safe? Just curious.

Well, it was down to the two of them, and a febal atempt at making a ball that ends up with "Mr. Whitey" behind another ball can sure look like an attempt to make a ball too. LOL
