Well, Jim, my first reaction was that a wholesome poolroom was like a carnivorous vegetarian --- impossible by definition.

On further reflection, though, I'd give very high marks to the Amsterdam Billiard Club in NYC. Especially to its league players, the club offers a very wholesome experience.
 
I would have to say that on "Sundays only" that THE POOL ROOM in Marietta Georgia has a pretty good atmosphere. They don't serve alcohol on Sundays and have a great tournament. $13 entry. Tournament players get free table time for the whole day even after they are put out, and 1st usually pays $150 or so. An inexpensive day of fun and competition and no drunks to deal with.
