Sharking

My pool playing buddy used this technique to squelch one obnoxious sharker:
He first asked the sharker to shut up (twice). The third time my buddy said: "As long as you continue to talk while I shoot, I'll follow you around the table while you shoot, with my fist cocked above your head; I may jack you one or I may not." The sharker complained about how unfair that would be, but he did shutup (and lost).

Colin, in the pool world when people see anything they like they just take it and use it as their own. They never give credit for where it came from. You would not believe how many shots I invented and others are using now as their inventions. It is a very long line of theives that goes way back. I guess its the same thing with a joke or a magic trick as well, those guys are even worse thieves.

Well that is interesting since I have never read that book!
Actually this is a compilation of everything I can find on the subject on the internet (not much) and a lot of it is from fellow players stories of being sharked as well as my personal observations. Every time I hear or read about a new shark, I add it to the list.
I do have quite a few books on pool, but none of them have very much on the subject of sharking as I recall.
The reason I made up this list is that I have seen fellow players being sharked and they don't know it. Their game goes downhill or they miss shots because of the sharking. I should think players would want to know what types of things *some* players do to shark so they will be aware of these tactics. (And then work on their mental game to handle these tactics in the future...)
