No... You missed it again.... Freedom of speach is a pretty big deal that I am 100% in favor of.. I will debate with anyone who wishes to debate but not when one of us is wearing a mask..... Bullying behind the shield of anononimity is the point... You are reaching and projecting with the bullying comment... I have zero interest in debating you on the subject while you wear your mask....
I have argued with PJ and Lou and several others over the years and in those instances the opposing speech while incorrect in my opinion was still valid as they had different ways of looking at things...
In some instance my mind was swayed and even tho we argued I would buy any of those guys a beer... I argued heavily with Mark Griffin over some things and I found out I was wrong... I walked up to him at Derby the first time I met him in person and handed him a beer and told him who I was and I apologized..... There is civility in that type of interaction, not in aguing with anon trolls... Win or lose....

Feel free to point out where writing random musings about pocket billiards under an alias undermines your constitutional rights. Still, I'm sure tittle tattle about a game of pool presents a clear and present danger to someone.

You got something you want to say to me, then just say it. I can't guarantee you I'll care, but I'll listen.
I post here on AZ Billiards and use a fake name as most do, so what's your point. That happens to be the way things were set up when I joined.
When I comment on a point, issue or situation, I'm obviously stating my point of view on the topic. If you don't agree with what I say then we can agree to disagree. If I think your wrong I'll state that, as I have in the past and will continue to do in the future.
I'm not trying to impress you, certainly don't crave your acceptance, nor do I need your approval to post what I choose. I'm not so busy working both sides of the aisle, sucking-up, or brown nosing anyone with name recognition that I'm afraid to state my point of view either.
If you have a different point of view than me, well then that's life, that's the way it goes. We can agree to disagree !
If you don't like what I post then put me on ignore or don't read my posts. I'm not scared to tell you or anyone else my name, but I'm not putting it out here on line as I'm not trying to sell anything.
I just called Mark this afternoon, told him my real name and we talked for 45 minutes. We agreed to disagree.
If it's just that you don't like me, I hope you don't mind, but you can stick your head where the sun don't shine.

Just saw this... Am very happy you called Mark and spoke to him man to man and gave him your name but you ran right back here and started posting like a big boy still hiding behind your anon-shield.....
You ask what I want to say to you? I want to say grow the f up and own what you post.... Not real hard.... Lots of us do it... I meet AZers at every tourney I go to... Noone has tried to stab me yet but I tend to only post the things I believe and will back up in person.....

Why do people care so much about knowing people's names? It's an internet forum and complaining like this comes off as very insecure to me.
Judge posts on their merit. If they lack merit they should be easy enough to repudiate and argue against. Who cares who said them. Knowing who John Barton isn't doesn't make some of his ranting any less cress. Nor does it make his occasional valid points any more valid.
This place is an interesting microcosm of the game of American pool in general. There's too much shilling, too much focus on selling snake oil, too much weight put behind who knows who as opposed to who knows what, and too much backslapping. The whole point of online forums (and the aliases that go with them) is that everyone has a voice, and that posts are judged on their own merit (not on the name behind them).
The further this place moves away from that the more it suffers. That goes for pool, too.

I sold a Willard to machine to a guy in Denmark and he was pissed cause it took 2 months to get there but tracking was accurate. So he post here on az. That I had DUIs and i was a drunk driver. Funny thing was that's how i found out he had actually received the item. He got my real name and address from the box and goggles it then put claim in with Pay Pall.
For the record, i have no dui, dwi so far. Lol
I've got a few convictions for beating people, but each one really deserved it.
