i bought a glove a couple years ago.......tried it and it was ok, it felt weird, it seemed like it didnt help my game that much and i felt a little self conscious to be honest so i put it away. Well couple weeks ago someone somewhere was talking about a glove nick varner endorses......fingers cut off, its got this little pad on the palm.....nicer than my other glove so i picked one up for the heck of it.
Well tonight it was hot and i was a little sweaty, my cue felt sticky and i put it on and.........holy crap!!!!!!! i shot unbelieveably. I had been practicing and was about ready to quit, but i did play the ghost 4 or 5 times and i ran all the racks out.......i was controlling the ball effortlessly.....and when i would hit.....there would be this lovely hollow "thunk" sound. Evidently my bridge has been inhibiting my stroke a bit.......but the funny thing was i noticed it even with an open bridge....i shot better and i got much more action on the cueball........i cant wait to try this some more this week.
I keep a "Sure Shot" cue glove in my cue case in case I have to play in a hot humid pool room. My hands perspire maybe more than normal and my glove comes in handy when my cue doesn't slide through my bridge comfortably. I don't use my glove all of the time, but I like the way it feels when I put it on. I got caught at a tournament in Georgia a few years ago where the place was full of people and their A/C went out and the playing conditions were terrible. It was hot and humid and I would have loved to have had a cue glove for that tournament. I bought a glove after that tournament and i've carried one with me ever since. I just use mine part time, but I do feel that I play OK with it and it might help me to use it all of the time.

Not sure if I would ever wear a glove because I do not like the idea of a barrier. Even more so, I think I would feel uncomfortable. Even in golf, I wear a glove only if it is springling (rain).

I have talked to many league players that now wear them and speak quite highly of them.

Maybe one day I'll try it out.

its called the placebo effect. its all in the head, just like when you buy a new cue? or a new break cue? you feel that you're playing better.. it'll die down after a while.. trust me... :D :D :D

Has nothing to do with the placebo thing. It has everything to do with achieving a smooth, non-crabbing, non-jerky stroke. Even in very humid conditions where everything's sticky, a glove works great.

Nah, whadda thoze suckers know?? A glove'll make ya look like a panzy, maybe a proctologist.

Don't give them a moment's notice, and never, ever, let your mother know you are even thinking about getting one.

More power to ya ...

If a glove rings your bell, more power to ya (and yes, I have tried one), but, to me, its like the advertisements of rubbers telling you it will feel just like the real thing, and I know that isn't true ... lol

Speaking of gloves, on Michael Jackson's newly planned long overdue so I can pay my bills tour, he will be sporting a new type of glove, and will be selling it, it's called 'The Kid's Glove' ... lol
