Should we all be emailing ESPN?

It would be canceled immediately if it was on ESPN because there would be so much controversy about continuing to run the tournament when the coronavirus issue is going on.

In general though I think it would be great if ESPN aired a few pro tournaments periodically.

If this business goes on much longer pool might be very well received. I hear the NBA is
bracing for a likely at least 3 month hiatus, if they return at all and I’d expect the same for
the rest of the sports. Entertainment will be on its last leg in short order, in about a month
or two a pro tournament on ESPN or Fox Sports will be a welcome sight.
Pool has an advantage for this. There is very little physical contact, almost no breathing
on each other, and most of all you can do it and not lose much without an arena or
stadium full of people. You can point a video camera at a table, get a couple of old pros
or Al Michaels to do the play by play and there you have it. I suspect it would be a mostly
all American tournament, except for the few foreign players that live here that you would
have to include, or maybe something Mosconi Cup Style,
Nahhhhh.... forget it, it sounds like a horrible idea.
I predict big things for the food channel and Iron Chef, sounds like a real winner

I kinda agree somewhat but the biggest problem is the age gap. Pool has to find a way to attract younger players and if that means apps, etc. then so be it. Gotta find a way to bring down the average age of players. Its a lot like NHRA drag racing. Go to one of their events and look at the crowd. Old white dudes. What they race is irrelevant to younger racing fans. Kids drive imports with 4-bangers, not big-ass V8's. If we can't attract kids we're in trouble.

Gotta agree with Kidpresentable about the money and drag racing thing. What most people not involved with the sport do not know is that even the sportsman racers who are not professionals are rolling down the road with a $100,000 to $500,000 investment between the tow vehicle, trailer and race car every weekend when they go racing. If you wanna go fast its pretty easy to spend $100K just on HP alone. Circle track racing can be cheaper but its not a guarantee, you also have a lot of weekly bills to put the car on the track every weekend from tires to broken/worn out parts. I can go play a game of pool for a buck and the price of a drink if I want to play off the wall. In our league we have a pretty even split between the older and younger generations.

What if we all sent an email asking to cover pool this week, since everything else has been scrapped?

Shooter 1= Stelzenmuller, Titleist conversion-Z2

Shooter 2= Bob Frey, Bacote sneaky
If they paid attention to emails they long ago would have taken some
of the idiots off the air that they put on everyday
